An Umbrella for Mankind

 I sit in the orchard of trees that were planted by Senator Kennedy!  I am grateful to be an american with little to contribute to great men, other than my vote. I have not had the privilege to shake hands or speak on the phone with  giants and the gatekeepers  of our Country, but I have had the privilege of enjoying the fruits of their labor.

Thank you to the teachings of Mrs. Rose Kennedy who instilled in the mind of her children ” To whom much is given much is expected.”  How or which one of the Kennedys step up to the plate to carry the mantle  is not as important as the crystilized fact that  the Kennedy family gave their services to this Country and their lives to the belief that they  were their brothers keepers.

My Struggle

I have attempted to promote the seriousness and painfulness of  the murder of a family member, child,mother, father etc,  signifigant other and the list continues.  The pain also continues, it appears that each murder is viewed as  ” so goes life and the evils of society “  I  have tried in my feeble way and with limited resources  to establish public awareness to the pain that is ever enduring and the hope of a yellow  rose memorial on a license plate to memorialize victim of murder my Congressman, State Reprensentative  etc.  is to busy to give me an audience  or to help.  This project is not an item that is related to the present budget short fall , this project began 1997.

I appeal to you as a reader to send me your opinion / suggestions on ways that I can promote this project more effectively.

FCAT Scores

I am a retired public school teacherand I feel the stress and the onslaught each year when the FCAT is administered.  What hinders the  State from grading the FCAT using the same standards/ sacle as other test. 

Examples:

297 – 299 should be a passing score on a test if the passing score is 300.  I think this would have an effect on the drop-0ut rate.

The same scale should apply to teachers who have spent 4-5 years in college  and graduate to serve as substitues because they miss the test by one or two points.

Citizenship in Singapore

 Citizenship in Singapore embraces order and pollution control by enforcing the following  ordinances:     ( 1) citizens must pay $625 fine for littering, ( 2 ) $325 fine for eating on  the subway,  (3) $94.00 fine for failing to flush  a public toliet, (4)  the sale of chewing gum is outlawed, as is smoking in public.

My point of view:  It would be a social travesty if americans could not purchase chewing gum, but it would, but the custodians throughout the county would be happy not to have to scrape  the gum from beneath tables.

What Wii It Profit A Man To Murder His Family?

There appears to be  a continous mimic mind set in our civilized society that rate front page news : ”  A Man Kils his wife and children.” How and when will a woman be able to to make a decision to go it alone and struggle to rear the children.  ” The mentality ” If I can’t have you no one will”.  Is a premediatated fear grounded in  being exposed for  various  things  that marks him as a failure.  When the defendant murders himself and his family they are not together, even if they are buried together. The innocent children are taken into the care of God.  The mother die a maytr  she died for what she believed for herself and her children.  The shooter is in a place of condemnation.  Society has been robbed of children who might’ve been doctors lawyers, scientist, teachers, clergies, etc. The mother is condemed to die for selfishness and the fear  of the shooter.  How sad to live in a society where men can walk away from a relationship at will and be chased for child-support payments for a decade, but a woman can’t mke a decision to be free or move on without being hunted and gun down like an animal. Killing the ex-wife , or girlfreind doesn’t mean he has her it only proves that he was selfish and fearful.

How do you file your secrets, God?

By  age or size?

By your purpose or by man’s inquisitiveness?

Do you have an empty drawer where we could file obsolet feuds and moth eaten resentments?

I hate to be after a bargain, Lord, but would it help to have a peace pill.

As it is one angry sneeze creates a world-wide headache.

Is peace filed mistakenly in a foldre for man -do–it- yourself ?

If so, we’re about as progressive as a boomerang.

Or, on second thought, Lord, is extinction for more than dinosaurs?

Seperate the Person from Pride

The character of a person is what they have weaved into the fiber of their being be it negative or positive.  A person is a total being  who is has painted a picture of himself/herself that motivates them to lift their heads and walk with a strut in the face of the pit falls.  Pride is a fixed internal worth that is not based on beauty, money, or unemployment.  Pride feeds the ego of the farmer who has loss his crop, the widow who loss her husband but must keep a shelter over the children, the college student who would take the job of custodian and labor into the night rather than beg or engage in illegal  activities. Pride is a pillar that hold hands with morality and raise the sails  of family values.

Recession/ A Time to Take Inventory!

The Recession is parallel to the seven years of famine,   drought, in Bible times when the Israelites had disregard for God’s   goodness and his continous protection.  When God can’t seem to get our attention  this Nation continue  to march down corridors and  sin per Leviticus  Chapter 19 for daily living and Chapter 20 for  imoral behavior.   Romans Chapter 1  coins valid reason for the recession, the drought for three years in some parts of the Country and the World.   Who protects us in every aspect of our lives and  our struggle to live?   We  look  for reason of how our Money gaints could  take a Rip Van Winkle sleep while the  Guardian of the money look the other way or step over the marks that points to exposure.    Some parts  of our society   are  anxious to know the ins and outs of the Stock Market but that information is  similar to  a pot of mud  you know that is wet and the purpose varies, but the color is taken for granted.

A Valentine Gift To Remember

Happy Heart’s Day!

The first gift of  love  was a Valentine gift to the World  from  Christ. Jesus’s  Crucifixion was  an act that true love, no lace or frills, no bunny rabbits, no balloons, no gift wrappings. no red roses.  

As I view Valentine’s Day I see the symbols of a commerical effort to  give meaning to a relationship, to confirm   the song of the heart/mind, a day for special moments  of sharing. 

The color of red in the heart signifies the color of blood that Jesus shed on the Cross for our sins

The symbol of the heart shape is  parallel  to the wholeness of  our life  without bones and can’t  be broken. 

A sustainer of our pysical activities as Christ is the sustainer of our spiritual life

The  chocolate  candy symbolizes the zenith of sweets, which  parallels Christ’ s  gift of  best to the world as he was  raised on the top of  Golgotha , the zenith of burden bearing for the World.

As we display our symbols for valentine let us remember that the effort to show love to others began on a hilltop  with no charge.
